
The Cat in the Threshold
Superstition Sam is Joana Varanda: a Portuguese writer exploring folklore, superstitions and wellbeing. She has a master’s degree in Socially Engaged Practice in Museums and has worked in illustration, scriptwriting, video and sound editing, costume and set designing, events production, and volunteered at the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle and The Folklore Podcast. She is the author of a comic book inspired by Cornish folklore called Men-an-Tol (The Hole in The Stone), and other comic book stories published in the Portuguese zine H-Alt. She is the founding editor of Salt & Mirrors & Cats, and dreams of owning a cottage, working in a museum and writing in a cosy shed with a horseshoe above its door.
The Art Goblin
Hayley is a designer and illustrator from Chicago, Illinois. She designs with licensed characters and has worked on marketing projects for brands such as Pusheen the Cat, Sanrio, and Scholastic. She illustrates dark forests and creatures as Prairie Bones, and can be followed at @Prairie.Bones on Instagram. When she isn’t watching horror movies or playing RPGs, she can be found hiking in nature and collecting animal bones and pine cones. She lives in Chicago with her partner and two rescue pets, Aleu and Moira. She is responsible for the artwork and layout of Salt & Mirrors & Cats.

The Bookworm Hatter
Signe Maene is a Belgian writer of stories mainly based on Flemish folklore, whose work has been published in several zines and released in the form of audio. She’s very passionate about anything relating to folk horror, myths and legends, and blogs about these on Substack. Signe has published a short story collection inspired by Flemish folktales called Flemish Folktales Retold, and was the co-editor of Salt & Mirrors & Cats, Volume 1. The Story Weaver
Kerria Seabrooke is a writer, actor and filmmaker who has produced award-winning films, web series and animation for television. Her client list includes BBC, Paramount, CBS, MTV, and HBO. She was the voice of Daisy in MTV’s Life in The Virtual Hills and her film TINY NATION was screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival. Her work has been published in REAL: Regarding Arts and Letters and The World Almanac for Kids and she served three years on the Advisory Board for Full Sail University’s Entertainment Media Design & Technology Master of Science program. Kerria did films, voice acting and audio production for the first season of The Salt & Mirrors & Cats Podcast.
